This policy explains how Core Energy & Storage (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information. We handle your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website, quote tool, or services, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• Contact details — your name, email, phone number and property/installation address.
• Energy & property information — your power bill amount and usage, electricity retailer, tariff and feed-in rate, roof details (material, orientation, pitch, shading, condition), switchboard and meter details, and proposed battery location.
• Household profile — household size, and whether you have an EV, pool, ducted air-conditioning, particular usage patterns or power-outage concerns.
• Consultation records — notes, recommendations, outcomes and photos of your property, switchboard and roof taken during an on-site consult.
• Quote, contract & payment information — the quotes and contracts we prepare for you, your electronic acceptance or signature, and payment and transaction details. Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
• Website & technical data — your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, and information collected via cookies and analytics tools.

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you use our instant quote tool, fill in a contact or booking form, call, email or message us, or have an in-home consultation. We also collect some information automatically through our website (cookies and analytics) and from our payment provider when you pay a deposit or invoice.

Why we collect and use it

We use your personal information to:

• prepare an indicative solar and battery quote and system design for you;
• book and carry out consultations and installations;
• apply Federal STC and Cheaper Home Batteries Program (CHBP) rebates as a point-of-sale discount, and lodge the related claims;
• arrange your grid connection and metering;
• order equipment and materials for your installation;
• process payments and issue invoices and receipts;
• manage contracts, electronic signatures and warranties;
• communicate with you by email, SMS or phone about your quote, consult or install;
• send you marketing about solar, battery and related offers where you have consented;
• meet our legal, tax, electrical-safety and record-keeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

We share your information only as needed to deliver our services, including with:

• Pipedrive — our customer relationship management (CRM) system;
• Mailgun — to send transactional emails and newsletters; JustCall — to send SMS and make calls;
• Stripe — to process card payments;
• MYOB — to issue invoices and manage payments and tax records;
• Equipment suppliers and distributors — to order and deliver materials to your installation address;
• Your electricity distributor (e.g. Energex) and retailer — to apply for grid connection and metering;
• The Clean Energy Regulator and accredited rebate agents — to process your STC and CHBP rebate claims;
• Vercel — our website hosting provider, which also stores your quote and acceptance records;
• Analytics and advertising providers — Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google, PostHog and Vercel Analytics;
• Government bodies, regulators, insurers or advisers — where required or permitted by law.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers above store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union (for example Pipedrive, Mailgun, JustCall, Stripe, Meta, Google, PostHog and Vercel). Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with this policy and the APPs. By providing your information, you consent to this overseas disclosure.

Cookies, analytics & advertising

We use PostHog (product analytics), Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram advertising), Google Tag (Google advertising and analytics) and Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our site and to show relevant ads, including retargeting. These services may set cookies. You can opt out through your browser settings, our cookie banner, and the ad-preference settings of Meta and Google.

Direct marketing & your choices

With your consent, we may send you marketing by email or SMS — including our monthly QLD solar and battery newsletter. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, by replying STOP to an SMS, or by emailing us. We will still send you essential service messages about a quote, consult or install you have requested.

Data security & retention

We store your information in access-controlled cloud systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet our legal obligations — for example, tax and financial records for at least 7 years, and installation and warranty records for the life of the workmanship warranty.

Accessing & correcting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are able. Email info@coreenergyandstorage.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days). We may need to verify your identity first. There is normally no charge.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

Children’s privacy

Our services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with the “last updated” date shown above.
